Comparative Performance of NIR-Hyperspectral Imaging Systems

Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) allows for the rapid estimation of a wide range wood properties. Typically, NIRS studies on have utilized benchtop spectrometers, but efforts to utilize NIR hyperspectral imaging examine and products increased. Compared systems, has several advantages (speed, visualization spatial variability), data typically lower signal-to-noise ratio as well fewer wavelengths saved; thus, systems larger spectral sampling interval (SSI). Furthermore, SSI wavelength varies considerably among different HSI cameras. NIR-HSI based indium gallium arsenide (InGaAs) detectors from 900 1700 nm, while short-wave infrared (SWIR-HSI) mercury cadmium telluride (MCT) ‘full’ 1000 2500 nm. These factors may influence performance property calibrations. We compared one (900–1700 nm) three SWIR-HSI (1000–2500 commercially available cameras with an spectrometer (1100–2500 nm).
